What is Sculpin QA?

We are a newer entry in the video game testing industry that began with a small team but we keep on growing. We still have the same philosophy we started with though and that is we don't treat games that we are working on, as just another game. We take pride in the game and feel a sense of ownership.

Who are we?

We have spun off from a video game development studio where we provided testing services. We have varied backgrounds; from video game design to computer programming to software testing to electronic gaming, mobile and customer service. Unlike some other testing houses, we don't hire new untrained employees for a project and then let them go after its over, and repeat that cycle over and over. Our testers are professional testers who are full time employees.

We believe in testing smarter!

Many of our backgrounds are in highly structured environments where more is not necessarily better. So we have developed a bug tracking process that allows us to test games with a high degree of precision. (That means fewer hours and therefore smaller invoices) We also know how important it is for you, the client, to know exactly what is going on with your game, so our online tool allows you to check up on us at any time, from anywhere.

You only have to look at our tickets to realize we are a different testing studio. We stress grammar, punctuation, and clarity - all the time! It may sound like a small thing until you are facing a crunch and open one of our tickets. You or your developer will then appreciate our commitment to detail. We also isolate the real issue to help developers find the fix, as fast as possible.

Our Philosophy

We like to not only test games, but we analyze where the problems were as well, so we can let you know if there are any development changes that can reduce your software issues on future developments. We also put on our site, some of the common bug issues so you can reap the benefits of our knowledge even if you don’t need our testing services right now.

Security

We work in one of the most secure facilities going. The Atlantic Technology Centre in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island features 24/7 staffed security, video surveillance as well as swipe card access to our offices. Servers are locked behind yet another set of doors. Our bug tracker is certified secure, by Thawte.
